These double-sided cabochon mandrels are the refined next step of our proven cabochon mandrels with an M2.5 threaded pin.
They were developed for users who value maximum flexibility, ergonomic handling, and reduced weight.
Depending on the version, the mandrel is equipped with different thread lengths and can therefore be matched precisely to different requirements:
– Version 4 mm / 4 mm: 4 mm thread length on both sides
– Version 6 mm / 6 mm: 6 mm thread length on both sides
– Version 4 mm / 6 mm: one side 4 mm, one side 6 mm
This covers the usual full length range required for the threaded pin.
The major advantage is flexibility: depending on the chosen version, you can use the right mandrel for your workflow and respond easily to different requirements.
Unlike mandrels made from solid material, this cabochon mandrel is made from tube stock: outer diameter 6 mm, length 250 mm, weight approx. 20 g.
For comparison, solid mandrels weigh approx. 30 g at 5 mm diameter and 200 mm length.
Thanks to the tubular construction, the mandrel sits more comfortably in the hand, is better balanced, and reduces hand fatigue during longer working sessions.
