Preheating the glass rod can help reduce the amount of unnecessary glass shards that can occur when a rod (especially a large diameter rod) is first placed in the flame.
The preheating plate is placed to the side of the flame. The design allows the stand of the preheater to be positioned far to the side and not directly in front of the torch. The preheater is fully adjustable, including the inclination of the plate, which can be easily changed.
The height is adjustable from 1 to 25 cm and the lateral length (from the centre of the foot plate to the end of the lay-down plate) can be adjusted in the range from 22 to 33 cm.
The stand is made of solid stainless steel. All other parts of the rod preheater (except the brass counterweight) are also made of stainless steel. The total weight of the preheater is 3 kg.
The preheating plate for the rods has a size of 20×17 cm. A total of about 12 to 30 glass rods can be placed on the plate, depending on the diameter.
